My wife is 'encouraging' me to get a home security system. I have my own stuff installed (Ring, Arlo, SmartThings sensors, MyQ) but she wants the peace of mind that comes from a more 'professional' type system and with monitoring.
I like how Vivint lets you buy their equipment up front and then you don't have a contract. I don't like how the equipment won't work unless you have a contract. I've looked into FrontPoint, ADT, and SimpliSafe. SS seems too low quality and I don't like how they charge $25 a month to use their app and their hub doesn't have any z-wave compatibility.
Anyway, I'm thinking of biting the bullet and going with Vivint. Anyone have any horror stories that will change my mind?
