do you have a spreadsheet with weekly rankings?
I have not personally made such a spreadsheet.
In BYU's 7 years in WCC (counting this season), SMC will make it into the NCAA tournament (including this season) for the 4th time in 7 years. Twice as a 7 seed. Once as an #11 seed and they played in the first round (against another #11 seed to get into field of 64).
So maybe they were ranked a lot in 2 of the previous 6 seasons. Maybe not. 7*4 = 28 which is outside of top 25.
Obviously they are good team.
But it looks like they are ranked top 25 less than 50% of the time since BYU joined the conference.
But still the word "occasionally" probably did not give them sufficient credit.
