When going to BYU I took a few classes at UVSC/UVU in the summer time. I was in line next to a particularly attractive female friend who was also in the class. We just talked and shot the breeze until we went in to take the test.
I went in first and she ended up sitting down one seat to the Right and back from me (on a diagonal). I got done with my test and took it to be graded. At that point someone got the head person to come and talk to me. They pulled me aside and said that I was being written up for "cheating". I kind of chuckled thinking it was a joke or something. They were totally serious and explained that this gal was looking off of my answers and that I had to be involved since I was seen talking to her before the exam.
At any rate, I was pretty ticked off. I said, "wait, I wasn't any part of anyone cheating off of me". They replied that she was back there behind me and that I had to know she was looking at my test. I quickly pointed out to them that now I not only have the stress of taking a test, but now I need to be looking all around me to make sure no one is looking at my paper (that would look suspicious by itself).....On top of the fact that they employ people to walk up and down the isle the whole time to make sure that it doesn't take place. I also emphasized that I am not happy with the testing center for letting someone cheat off of me, as I took the previous 1+ off of work just to study and make sure I did very well on the test and I don't appreciate when people try to "cheat" their way through life. I then immediately went to the department head, who said it would go on my record as a warning, but if nothing else happened, it would be dropped.
The punishment from the teacher was to have us both take the test again...exact same test, at the exact same time, outside his classroom, with his door closed and no one ever checking on us. At that point I just kind of laughed, but it did really tick me off that they thought I was part of some cheating ring or something.
