So more than a year later, I thought I should give Jersey Mike's another try. I mean, they are spreading like cockroaches over the Utah market and it turns out I'm a sucker for advertising and the online broadcast of the BYU game last night was saturated with Jersey Mike's ads. So out running errands between sessions, I stopped in. There was no way I was going to repeat my earlier mistake of ordering a cheesesteak so I went with one of their staples, and my favorite cold sub - an Italian.

And my apparently not-so-popular opinion of Jersey Mike's has been confirmed. The next time I want an Italian that tastes like a bologna sandwich, I'll hop in my time machine and go home to lunch with my 8-year old self. And bread that turns to paste within 30 seconds of being exposed to oil/vinegar is no roll at all.

Maybe in another year I'll be willing to give their meatball sandwich a try. Eventually I'll find something edible there, right?
