please please please - do yourself a favor - take some lessons (or at the very least go on youtube and
watch some instructional videos). For a few hundred bucks a coach will cut 15 strokes off your best round.

If you go the instructional video route, you then need to go to range and videotape your swing. There's no reason an abled body person who likes golf is hitting a 64.

As some encouragement, my brother (who didn't play any high school sports) went from never golfing to a single digit handicap in about 18 months.
