Job Interview Process Advice
I interviewed for a job that I really want in early July. I was told that due to one of the members of the hiring committee going on vacation and getting through the HR procedures in the hiring process it usually takes 1-2 months for someone to get hired.

I was the agency's first interview for the position. I would like to get an update on the position and to express my continued interest in the job. Is it appropriate to call the hiring manager to get an update? It has been a little less than one month since my interview.

The hiring manager gave me her phone and said I could call at any time if I had any questions, so I feel ok calling but am not sure if it is too soon or just not a good practice to call.

Any thoughts?
