I graduated from a HS in Ohio and I can't say it is all that fertile of a recruiting ground in comparison to FL, TX or CA....as far as skill position players go on offense I'm not sure who the last great recruit was - Robert Smith?
I don't really follow Ohio recruiting that closely but in following college football it seems like most people reference FL, TX & CA for most fertile grounds for skill position players...followed by other Southern and West coast (warm weather) states. Sure you can get a lot of corn fed O & D linemen from all over and yes stars can come out from just about anywhere but main areas for those I've just never heard Ohio as being a top one...
Then again - never really heard Utah or Illinois (my home state) as one of the top ones for teams to target...
