His older brother (who walked on) isn't as skilled
but is clearly a bigger, better athlete. In terms of being a productive bench player, Danny's best son is probably the one getting back from a mish right now. (Is he suiting back up for us?)

Truth is, we have a lineup nowadays that Austin Ainge wouldn't have cracked. Austin was a decent PG in terms of craftiness & ball control, but have we forgotten how physically outmatched he was against almost every opponent we faced? The dude was tiny, & physically neither strong nor athletic. And Crew is a spittin image of him.

As a bench player, I would play Craig Cusik over Austin Ainge any day of the week. (If I were forced to play one as a starter, the decision would be a little more difficult, I'll admit. But it'd still be a decision, IMO.)

Honestly, can you imagine how thoroughly outmatched a frosh Austin Ainge woulda been against the likes of incoming frosh, Nick Emery? Their HS vids were not in any way even comparable. As solid as Crew's vids look, they are VERY comparable to Austin's HS vids. This isn't a knock on Crew or Austin (who did good things for us as our team leader over a decade back), but just a reminder of the state of the program right now in terms of talent. None of Danny's kids were must-gets for BYU. Austin did okay for us, but BYU coulda done just as well if they had gone a different way. But as for Crew, we clearly have better already in the fold. Hands-down better.
