After the thread earlier today I happened to run into the guy in my hood who is widely referred to as "the Hoop Nazi" as he's like a 50 year old African American guy who has been playing pickup in North Brooklyn for decades and he is renowned for yelling at other players about fundamentals.

That was his take. I didn't bother to correct him and let him know that there are occasional exceptions to his claim. But he's pretty convinced that it's the case, at least in his world.
