Yeah, Dick very clearly says BYU wanted 3rd tier broadcast rights.
And he clearly says it was the difference between BYU being in Big12 instead of WVU.
Dick is pretty connected, I am usually inclined to believe him. But Tom Holmoe and now Neinas have both been express, direct, and clear. There was no discussion regarding BYUTV, there was no demand from BYU.
If they were just talking generally, I might side with Dick here. But I don't see why Neinas and Holmoe would go on the record offering up obvious lies that could be exposed.
