Would it still be funny? I doubt it. I remember Y'zGuy's ridiculous, immature trolling on that board, but what he was doing still wasn't against the BYU Honor Code. Even Mr. C knew he was lying. The fact that those lies caused problems for someone else, even if he was annoying, is still wrong, and not funny at all.
