It still isn't ideal, but it's best available alternative. I think it can successfully be a bridge to a P5; or a lifeboat that allows us to float aimlessly around, hoping to bump into a pot of gold called the b12.
I don't like it at all. Not a fan of independence. I do like a lot of the away games, and some of the home games, so it's not schedule per se for me. I love the conference race. I love that you can lose a game or two and depending on your conference mates you still have a chance.
Anyway, I have never liked independence as a destination. If it becomes one then I think the worst case of all scenarios will eventually play out; small time football and basketball. I don't think they would go away, just go small. Which is more like having a small knife in your back to make sure you die a slow death.
