I was blown away at how many long scoring runs Luke had where he essentially made no moves and broke no tackles - he just took a perfectly timed pitch from Doman and sprinted past blown containment to the end zone.
This is one part a testament to Luke's incredible speed. It is one part a testament to Doman's insane mastery of the option. It is one part a testament to the fact that we played a bunch of terrible defenses that year. And one part a testament to the fact that even the good defenses we played seemed to have trouble comprehending that QBU was coming at them with a run-heavy option offense.
Luke was a great back and 2001 was an amazing accomplishment - but the fact that his YPC doubled from 2000 to 2001 wasn't all his doing.
