NC State's colors are red and white, like a billion other schools that do just
fine selling gear. You don't see a lot of people wearing NC State gear because they're the third most popular school in the state. Powder Blue doesn't look good on a lot of people, but UNC gear is all over the place. Oregon does fine with a garish shade of green. UW does just fine in the Seattle area with purple, for crying out loud. Royal blue would be just fine.
That said, the shade of royal on the unis (like the last year we beat Utah) looks off to me.
