Actually during the past 3 years of round-robin play the champion was undecided
...until the final week of play. Round-robin play is an absolute meat grinder. Too many times the 4th or 5th best team in the Big 12 represented the North Division in the CCG because they avoided playing the best 1-3 teams during the season. The Big 12 champion's SOS will easily trump most, if not every other conference's SOS even with them playing a CCG.
