if football is the 5th priority and we mostly get 2nd tier recruits, there isn't much reason to pretend to be elite and play the elite schools. We won't stop following the team because most of us are alumni. We are tied to BYU. That doesn't mean that I'm going to invest in a product that is mediocre or second rate. I'll still watch the games, but am not gung ho about coming from out of state to all the home games like I did this season if Bronco keeps running the program the way he has.

If I was a 3 hour marathoner, I wouldn't sign up for a marathon with only sub 2:20 runners. I'd want to run against guys near my level unless I really was committed to become a 2:20 runner. I'd train for a year to improve my time and then jump in the race with the big boys.
