One of my companions used to quote that poem. It made me laugh. Except he quoted it this way,
"I was walking down the street.
Kill my landlord,
Kill my landlord.
Hurting people that I meet.
Kill my landlord,
Kill my landlord.
C-I-L-L my landlord."
I noticed some similarities to a thing I heard my mission president quote on more than one occastion when speaking on repentance. It is called
Autobiography in Five Short Chapters by Portia Nelson.
So I wrote this:
Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Tyrone Green.
Day 1:
I walk down the street. There is a big hole there. I fall in. Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Day 2:
I walk down the same street. There is a big hole there. I fall in again. Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Day 3:
I walk down the same street. There is a big hole there. I fall in again. Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Day 4:
I walk down the same street. My landlord is there. I kill him and throw him in the hole.
Day 5:
I get out of town.
We thought it was really funny.
