NFC is underutilized and under-developed as a tech...

in smart phones. Several Android phones have it but it is far from universally useful. As a payment system it is unreliable because you need to have another way to pay since most places don't accept it. I still see it as a feature and not any kind of innovative revolution. It hasn't changed the industry per se.
