AnyDVD has a trial period (21 days or something like that). So if you have the

time to get it done that quickly, it's a decent solution. DVDFab also allows you to rip the DVDs with the free version, but does not allow you to encode in the free version. However, you can just rip the DVDs to your computer with DVDFab and then encode them (to save space) using Handbrake.
