Some have brought up that BYU's ESPN deal would not be a "carrot" to any BCS teams as they already have their own contracts with ESPN or other large networks. Now that the regular season for most teams is over (only 44 teams will play this weekend) I thought I'd show a different way of looking at these stats. This list shows every BCS conference team this year (including ND) and how many times they have appeared on my list of nationally televised games on a network with high enough distribution/ratings that it was tracked/reported by Nielsen. I also included a column for how many BCS games that individual team had actually appeared in (does not include Bowl Alliance or Bowl Coalition years):

It may be kind of like the guy tossing star fish back into the ocean - it may not matter to all of them but looking at this list it sure looks like there are some at the bottom there where it "will matter to them".

I'd just state that any of those teams with 0, 1, 2 or even 3 they may possibly think that our ESPN contract is a "carrot".
