If you come down on "teams stay in conferences and conferences get bigger" model, that speaks towards moving towards the Big 12. I just don't think that model is clearly going to beat out alternative models right now. The WAC 16 failed miserably. It's a lot of schools to manage with a lot of competing interests. Maybe it will work smashingly with larger programs, but I suspect many of the WAC's issues will be repeated in BCS conferences too.
