I never activated Data on my phone last trip and it was awesome. Used hotel WiFi
For the few calls I needed to make, and for internet when I wanted it at night.
It was great to not have a phone for a week.
It’s more possible than you think.
Didn’t let my kids get data either, so they were engaged and not on screens all day.
Just sayin it’s a possibility.
*my wife did get data for most of the trip.

just add the travel plan to your service, I have ATT and anytime I am out of the country I pay $10 a day for unlimited
