If you are traveling from out of state it absolutely is.
I have priced it out the last 3 years. Switzerland isnt always cheaper but Italy is. Japan is typically a lot cheaper as well.
flying from where I live now to Switzerland staying for 5 days at the base of the mountain and skiing came out to about $1900 per person.
The same trip at Snowbird with a discounted 5 day pass comes out to about 2200-2300 per person depending on the days I fly out.
