in the recent history of the rivalry.
You've got a kid that is not just a coveted football talent but an admired locker room leader.
Turning his back on the Utes is no minor thing - he had status over there, guys looked up to him, coaches relied on him. He's got class and character, not just talent.
Keep this in mind: NOT ONE EQUIVALENT PLAYER from BYU has flipped to Utah. No BYU player who has become a leader in both football and team culture terms with over a dozen starts under his belt wearing the white and blue has flipped to Utah in the modern era - yet. Not saying it can't happen. But this would be like if a Batty or a Pay announced they were going to go play for Utah.
We already knew this, but this marks it down beyond question: Utah's P5 advtange is as dead as a doornail. They had their window to create distance between the two programs, they failed. They are in the same conference, on a two game losing streak to us, just missed a bowl, and some of their top talent is coming to play for us.
Go Cougs.
