this, reminds me of my roommate’s brother at BYU, who is extremely sick so he went and signed up for the student health
Unfortunately, it did not kick in until Monday. On Monday, he went to the ER and was noted to have a ruptured appendix. He spent several days in the hospital as a result of it then the insurance denied it all because it was a pre-existing condition.

In medical school, I had an abscess in my throat and neck and we had free care if we went to the clinic during the daytime but we had to pay something out-of-pocket if we went to the Emergency room after hours. Over the weekend late at night it got to where my breathing was starting to be compromised so I reluctantly went to the emergency room and had to have an emergent surgery to drain the expanding abscess in my throat near my airway typical student behavior, trying to save money
