As a kid I never wanted to sit on a strange man's lap and whisper in his ear, and I'm definitely not telling my kids to do it.
I don't like him taking center stage on a holiday that is supposed to be a celebration of Christ's birth. That seems weird to me.
I'm glad that my husband didn't think it was a big deal to not do Santa. His parents were all in on Santa and he says that he thought it was kind of stupid. They were really upset when he figured it out at like six, but he had to pretend to keep believing because his mom got so upset. That feels ridiculous.
Some people on here seen to have figured out good ways to navigate it with their kids though, so to each their own.
