We have large and quickly growing stakes in NoVa, Charlotte, and Raleigh. In broad generalities, half of the active youth head to Utah or BYU-I for school, end up staying there, and eventually many parents follow their kids/grandkids to Utah. Of the other half of active youth that try to tough it out at local schools on the east coast, a large portion go inactive during their college years. Making SVU a legitimate option (similar to BYU-I) would be a game changer for church growth in the Eastern time zone.
