Yes. A few years ago, Airbnb tried to spin that as a plus
They had a series of ads with a premise like “We went to this new country and had a built-in guide because of our Airbnb host. We even made a new friend!”
Always struck me as weird… I want privacy on a vacation, not unstructured interaction with a complete stranger.
