Refereeing is very subjective even if they pretend it isn’t. I’m not saying it’s a true bias like “they hate our school”, but “does this impact anything? What was the severity? What was the context?”

Whether or not those factors could be programmed is a big question.

I’d say if anything AI should be used for post-game analysis and ref grading. Because the AI could be trained well for that. Eventually we’ll get better trained refs if they are critiqued by AI.

Personally I never want to see refs go away. Important part of the game.
