Great season, hats off to Kalani, but it's hard to come back from sanctions, go from picked last to winning the conference, and make the CFP with a bye. I have no problems with giving an award to a coach who did that, and think it would be blatant homerism to pick Sitake over ASU's coach (who's name escapes me).
I'm not sure what BYU's revenue is in the Big XII; I assume it's more than independence (and I realize that 1) BYU isn't yet getting a full revenue distribution and 2) ASU's numbers have probably changed since they moved from the Pac-12) but my bigger point is that the historical revenue gap between BYU and ASU is not a large one. BYU was not hurting for cash, and—more to the point—if we were going to argue all those years that we were a P5 team, it's weak and inconsistent to backtrack now.
