RE: I am in the “a bit concerned camp” with basketball
I’m genuinely perplexed by the recurring "concern" over recruiting the best high school players in the world. Isn’t the essence of a winning program to believe in your ability to attract top talent, then actually go out and do it? To recruit the best, land the best, and become the best? That seems like the most logical and aspirational approach. What’s even more encouraging is that BYU now has a coaching staff that not only subscribes to this mindset but is actively executing it. They’re out there competing at the highest level, and the results show it.

So, why waste energy worrying about this? We have a team of coaches who are clearly winners, committed to winning. I, for one, am just going to sit back and enjoy the ride, win or lose, and embrace this new era of BYU basketball. It’s a time to celebrate progress and potential, not question the ambition of aiming for the best. If we’re serious about elevating the program, shouldn’t we be thrilled they’re swinging for the fences?
