Oregon, the unanimous #1 team in the country, would not fall below Tulane with 2 losses. BYU, a team nowhere nearly as respected (and again, not the #1 team in the country), did.
Which is more likely, there's a conspiracy to delegitimize the BigXII, or the committee thinks BYU isn't very good.
BYU lost back to back games. If BYU lost to SMU and KSU instead, and won all the rest of their games, we'd almost certainly be ranked higher.
