Don Juan can elaborate on this, but basically a high school coach gets a stipend
and that is what Hans and Alema are talking about.

Most head coaches have a conditioning class attached to their sport that they get paid for.

If you are a full-time teacher and head coach, then your stipend just goes on top of what you are getting paid as salary.

If you are not full-time but a head coach, then you max out at 10 hours of payable hours per week (I believe) for the conditioning class that you are assigned for your sport.

Basically, if you aren't a full-time coach, you are getting paid between 6-10k with everything combined.

Someone I know is a swim coach in Alpine School District, he gets paid a stipend and for his class. He gets about 20 hours per month in his class, and gets his stipend at the end of the season. He said he works about 15-20 hours per week coaching, but only gets paid for 6. His stipend is supposed to cover the other 9-10 hours per week for the entire season
