At least with the SEC you have a majority of the teams in the conference that have somewhat serious football programs.
With the BIG10 I'd say it's less than 1/2 of the teams that have solid football programs. So the teams like Oregon, OSU, Michigan can relatively easily run over the other schools and have these "amazing" records.
