The statistics that account for expected points based on starting field position
and percentage of yards gained account for that. Going on 4th down vs punting and giving the short field position would account for about 1.0-1.5 additional expected points in a game. So it did not make a lot of difference.

The defense had an uphill battle going into this game... the fact that we had them held to 28 points at their home...
