I totally agree with you. They clearly use it in an “appropriating” way and society has allowed it because who is going
to tell the bigger, stronger Polynesian what he can or can’t say? It’s easy to tell the scrawny white guy that he’s not allowed to say it even if used in the identical context.

Again, I don’t think Polynesians have a well documented history of victimhood in America therefore they are licensed to use the N word but rather I think they picked up the use of the word likely from time spent with black Americans and it’s taken on its own life form.
