No way, the bowl games were awesome with conf vs conf matchups and lots of

debate about who the national champion is. Loved it. That was the system BYU won it under.

I wasn't born with this bizarre requirement to see a playoff determine a winner like so many were. I loved that any undefeated team could claim to be the winner, who cares? It's fun.
