How many walk-ons have gone onto D1 success? How many have gone onto NFL success

I ask because at some point the entire concept of the "Ruddy" is a nice story but nothing more than that. I get that there are some late bloomers but how many of those have turned out to be a player at the D1 level? Or at the NFL level?
