I have lost a lot of respect for him since watching his videos on the Ute game.
These games are not a war. He seems to think they are darned close to it, and that such an atmosphere isn't a problem. He likes it "intimidating," to quote him exactly. Well, I don't agree and I think that's a ridiculous viewpoint. This is entertainment, and it should be wholesome entertainment people can take their women and children to see. If it's not going to be that way between BYU and Utah, WE SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING THEM.

I have thought for some time that BYU should break all ties with the University of Utah and have nothing whatsoever to do with them. This is because our dealings with them always seem to be bad for BYU. It would be far better for us at BYU if we just did not interact with them at all in any area.

Ending up in the same athletic conference with them was a really bad and unfortunate outcome. There is a clearly a great deal of hatred for BYU amongst the U crowd because of their outright religious bigotry. Moreover, they are not at all hesitant about voicing and displaying that animosity. Do we really have to get to the point where some bonehead shoots another bonehead because of the rampant, completely unrestrained animosity? I can easily see that happening, at which point I'd not be surprised if the BOT, acting on explicit directions from the First Presidency, ended football entirely. Given their anxiety about maintaining a squeaky-clean image of the Church, I can't see how they could NOT end if a shooting happened.
