I believe it's within the guidelines on noise before the ball snap. BYU plays
music before the snap. Now I personally feel it is more daunting to pipe in crowd noise than music before a snap, but as noted, the home stadium can choose to do such and it would fall within the guidelines as long as it is cut before the teams are set for the play.

Isn't it Mississippi State where the fans have the cow bells that they clank all through the time that the opposing offense is trying to snap the ball? I believe fans using artificial noise should be disallowed. Fan's voice, yes, crank it all you want, but artificial noises (cow bells and slapping the sides of the stadium, etc.) should be disallowed.
