Gundy and Oklahoma State returned almost everyone from a 10 win season but struggled against Utah and got embarrassed by a good Kansas State team on the road (who BYU had embarrassed the week before). They had quit on the season but Coach Gundy used their bye week to try and rally the troops and barely failed.
Utah has a lot of talent (including several players that I'd love to transfer to BYU) and some great defensive coaches that have built a solid program. Unfortunately for them their offense seems to have been entirely based on a their QB and once he went down again they've been forced to try and win on defense alone. And that is very tough to do especially when you've pissed off all your opponents through your arrogance and given them reason to circle this game on the schedule. Utah also had a bye week and came out with a new OC and new QB and almost pulled off the upset.
I predict that Utah loses this week by 20+, not that Colorado is that much better than BYU but I don't believe Utah will recover fractured, struggling Utah team will be able to recover mentally from this loss this season.
