I thnk it's a way for owners to pay employee's less. Passing on employee wages
to the public is always the way it works. This time instead of raising prices they added tipping I guess.

I know places tell potential employees how much they can average in tips in an hourly rate. So they will say we pay you $12 an hour but with tips you should average $16 an hour.

So- I understand the tipping culture is out of control, but when you think of it as increased prices or tipping, maybe it's not so bad.
