Intervention Needed
He still looks pretty clunky to me in that regard. One of Richie's biggest strengths is he knows who he is.
He's built himself into a solid guard given his limitations.
I have to assume being surrounded by all that high-end talent at Wasatch helped him to invent himself into what he is.

Does Saunders have a shot at the next level?

Europe maybe? I don't know

NBA? No shot. With his skillset, he'd have to be 6'10+.

He’d be fine at 6’8

He'd be a wing at that — & he'd still have to improve his handles, cuz his athleticism would be average.

His handling has improved this year I think. He’d be good enough

Yes, absolutely. NBA? Not likely, but there will be pro clubs willing to pay for

Such an underrated finisher and all around player. I haven't looked at his +/-

Kevin Young has said he thinks Saunders can play in the NBA, has compared him

He's being kind. Skill-wise they ain't close.

Kevin Young doesn’t strike me as someone who exaggerates praise (unlike Pope).

Caruso's a much better skill guard. It's not even a debate. I think athletically & size-wise they are close.

Richie is obviously not where a 7 or 8-year NBA vet is skill wise;

I remember Caruso when he was rookie. And haven't watched him in many years (I watch very lil NBA these days).

Well....they're both white. So there's that.

Kevin Young does think so, and NBA scouts that have visited BYU practices agree.

I agree. But I don't see the Caruso comparison. That's someone who does handle

Yeah that's true. I didn't hear the Caruso comparison from KY, so I don't know

He looks much better already. More confident offensively. I think people

D and 3. Guys with a motor can be great glue guys on championship teams.

He'd have to be bigger by several inches than he is.

A shot? Sure. A great shot? Well...

I think he'll get a shot as a depth guy somewhere on a 2-way contract

Yes if he keeps improving shooting and ball handling. if he were 2 inches taller
