Pope tried to work hard to wake the Admin up to the opportunity NIL was giving them
most of our BOT were debating whether it was something they even wanted BYU involved in.
There was no pretty way of getting people on the same page with those extremes on the table. That Pope fought with people over it is something we should value him highly for, imo.
I think a lot of his anger was translating as "PLEASE give me a reason to stay here. I'd really like to chase dreams here long term, but you guys are not giving me the support to justify a long-term stay."

No. They were coming VERY slowly before Pope left. I think it's clear they were part of KY's contract
