Thanks. Like OP, I too have always wondered this. Another question for you:
Never understood why the slightest flinch by an offensive lineman gets a false start penalty. But, there are times when you see the offensive linemen lifting their heads, pointing out defensive players to block/call out, making all sorts of moves. But no false start. Is there some point in the play where no movement is allowed, and before that point movement is allowed? Never understood this
