First of its kind for BYU. Opening the door to future recruits (not only in basketball) to explore what makes BYU special enough that anyone of his caliber would/should consider BYU.
2. He is better than and has a higher ceiling than just about everyone on that list, compared to when they were in high school.
3. He will bring TONS of eyeballs to watching BYU, including future generations of recruits that are now in elementary, Jr. high, high school. This also shines the light on the church which is a very good thing.
4. This is our best shot at a #1 overall prospect. He is playing for Utah prep, parents love the school (seemingly), and he has connections to teammates at Utah prep that will be or are considering coming to BYU. It’s now or likely never to get a name this big that makes an impact in so many ways outside of just basketball.
The positives go on.. there aren’t any negatives to bringing him in.. it’s not like you will be paying the $4-5 million.
