Unfortunately, from what I understand Disney World is no longer a park you can afford to "wing it" at. You need to basically plan everything weeks (if not months) in advance if you want to enjoy the parks with any level of efficiency. Or at least, that's the vibe I've gotten from people. I haven't been there in over 20 years and was a teenager last time I went so I wouldn't know from my own experience.
