If you prefer the Tacoma, then combined with their longevity, probably with it.
But if you prefer something about a Ranger, Colorado, Canyon, etc., I'm really of opinion that 6-10 year old cars can be a sweet spot for reliability, in a weird way. Any latent manufacturing weakness has manifest. Long-term wear items can be evaluated and, if you can DIY, aren't as expensive as people make them out to be.
Comments above mention interior wear. It's a good point - some interiors just hold up better. Id consider that but don't know about the bon Tacoma options.
