There is a blind-side rule in college. I cite to it above. The refs called a penalty under the college rule. But they got their facts on the play wrong; it most definitely was not a violation of the rule. The announcers and Hans mistakenly cited the NFL rule in explaining why the refs called it, because it would have been a penalty under the NFL rule. College and NFL both introduced their rules the same year - 2019 - so people (probably not paid referees) mistakenly confuse the rules. End of story and thread.
