BYU was a 4.5 point favorite over UMass in that 2017 game. So taking home field advantage into account, almost a toss-up game.

BYU is currently an 8-point favorite vs OK State.

So quite literally, it was not crazier for BYU to lose to UMass than it would be for BYU to lose to OK State.
